February 2003 - Email received from a new ActiveLite user who lives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia:
Hi Bryan,
Well, my new Easy Travel is christened! It is absolutely wonderful ^_^
Took my dog for a walk the day before yesterday. Even he was impressed with the speed with which we now move!
Yesterday I was almost NOT going to load it in my van 'cuz I wasn't too speedy at folding and unfolding it...and I was tired...and I didn't have much time. No sooner had this thought than the phone rang. It was Trevor - from your office! Calling me because he wasn't going to available later in the week. Boy was I appreciative of this. I was going to phone the following day.
You are absolutely correct, his instructions (and patience) are fabulously simple. In no time I was totally convinced I was glad I'd made this purchase. The best news is the scooter easily fits behind the passenger seat of my Nissan Quest van. And Trevor's trick of using your knees as a lever when you lift works equally well for a sideways entry into the van (as opposed to a straight lift into a trunk or back of a van).
I took my new wheels to Parksville to visit Barbara at the lodge. Everyone was fascinated with the Easy Travel. I have a date with the Physio to show her all about it. (Must be nice for you to have a product that literally sells itself!) Barbara, in her electric wheelchair, and I on my scooter took both my dogs for a walk around the lodge grounds. Barbara took some pictures which I hope to send at some point. The best one, I hope, is of Zack and me. He is a Border Collie on a Welsh Corgi base! Well up he got onto the foot platform, then he stood up, facing forwards, with his front paws on the handgrips...so it looked like HE was doing the driving!! We just roared. If he could buy one for himself, I think he would!
So that's the latest news from Vancouver Island.
